Shine was founded by Sarah Duckworth of Sarah Duckworth Photography in Rockwall. As a Mom herself, Sarah saw the need for modern yet classic school portraits. She started with a single school in 2010, and has grown to serve more than a dozen schools. We added dance to our services in 2013, and there's nothing more fun than getting to capture each dancer's unique skills and watch them grow year after year. We now also offer youth sports pictures - we aim to make every athlete feel special when they step in front of our cameras. We also love offering several mini-session events to our school and dance/sports families throughout the year - from Back to School, to Ballerina Portraits, to Fall Family Mini's to Holiday Pajama Portraits - we love getting the chance to get to know our parents and kids better!
Parents: Preparing for Picture Day
We understand it can be nerve-wracking sending your child to school on picture day. If your child tends to be shy or feel nervous - we recommend not making a big deal of picture day - they will feel more relaxed if they don't feel pressure to smile a certain way. Sarah (our owner) has a child with anxiety, so she takes special care with little ones who are feeling shy, and we promise we'll do our very best to catch their natural personality for you!
